Internships in Boston

OVERVIEW

Summer 2013 Program Dates: June 7th to August 2nd, 2013*

The beauty of Boston lies in its accessibility. Boston’s skyline is less cluttered with architectural skyscrapers than other American cities and its population stands less than one million. It is a city known for specific neighborhood culture and a sense of strong community. Whether it’s the colonial architecture and intricate antique shops of Beacon Hill or the dense population and fine Asian eateries of Chinatown, there is a neighborhood for everyone. Boston is a “walking city,” in that the average tourist can gain inferences in history, architecture, and art from a careless stroll down Charles Street.

The lush history of Boston spans hundreds of years. It is the home to the first U.S. mail route, the first newspaper publication, the first draft of the U.S. constitution, and even America’s oldest pub. However, above the foundation of historical significance is the innovation of our modern era. A focal point for commerce, higher education, medical care, and creativity, Boston is one of today’s greatest centers of excellence. Crafted by the hands of America’s founding fathers, Boston will continue to be challenged as the most intellectual and well-instructed hands of today’s generation.

THE EXPERIENCE

Work

From education and medicine to computer science and advertising, Boston has it all. Known as the “city of youth,” Boston is where future innovations are created and cultivated. The accessibility to distinguished corporations and leaders make this city such an incredible place to work. Commuters take full advantage of walking, bicycles, buses and the “T” which allows them to avoid the traffic during rush hour. A Boston workday is similar to that of New York City, spanning as long as a particular amount of work calls for.

Play

Whether one is catching a game at Fenway Park, enjoying the talent of the Boston Symphony, or experiencing the buzz of Faneuil Hall, it is clear why Boston is the pulse of New England. Eiabroad interns will have the chance to relish in Boston’s premier attractions as well as the culture just beyond its city walls. Spend a day lounging on the beaches of Cape Cod or travel a few hours into the vibrancy of New York City. Whatever you choose, interns will gain insight into Boston’s abundance of opportunities.

“Coming into the Boston program, I had no idea what to expect.  Eiabroad internships in Boston went above and beyond my expectations providing me the experience of a lifetime.  I met some of my best friends while living in a beautiful city.  I found Boston to be very accessible.  My roommates and I had an amazing time discovering its nooks and crannies.  The internship experience allowed me to become a vital part of a major company.  My input and ideas were expressed and valued.  This gave me such beneficial work experience.  I would recommend Eiabroad to anyone and am so glad I did it.” – Jen (Ohio State University)
